Configure your organization
Set up the details that make everything else work — company info, your team, budgets, and custom fields.
-
1
Fill in your company details
Open Organization Details and add your legal name, address, phone, website, and tax ID. These flow onto invoices and official documents, so it's worth doing once up front.
-
2
Invite your team
Add teammates from Organization → Team: enter their email and pick a role — Owner, Admin, Member, or Contractor. They get an invite link and join once they accept. Important: someone has to be a member of your organization before they can be assigned to a project — so invite them here first, then add them on the project's Team tab.
-
3
Decide how you'll budget your work
Budgets are set per project (on the project's Billing & Budget tab) so you can track profitability and catch overruns early. Pick the budget type that matches how you bill: Time & Material (billable $ against a cap), Category Fees or Category Hours (budget per phase of work), Total Hours (one overall hour cap), or Hours Per Team Member (manage each person's capacity). Flip on Monthly Budget if it should reset each month.
-
4
Add custom fields
Custom fields capture workflow-specific info the standard task fields don't — think Client Approval Status or Sprint Number. Add them from Organization Details → Custom Fields: name the field, choose from 13 types (text, number, date, dropdown, user, and more), mark it required if needed, and pick where it shows — task details, the list view, or Kanban cards. They're organization-wide, so every task can use them.
