Set up your first project
Spin up a project, get your team on it, and see everything a project can hold — the quick path from empty to organized.
-
1
Open Projects and start a new one
From the main menu go to Time Tracking → Projects and click New Project. Projects organize your time entries, tasks, and budgets — everything downstream hangs off them.
-
2
Fill in the details that matter
Give the project a name and — optionally — link it to a customer, set a project code, an hourly rate, and a budget (hours or dollars). None of these are locked to a paid plan; set what's useful and skip the rest.
-
3
Add your team
Add teammates from the project's Team tab: pick a person, choose a role — Member (logs their own time) or Admin (manages the project) — and optionally set per-person billable and mileage rates. Heads up: only people who've already joined your organization show up here, so invite them first.
-
4
Open the project dashboard
Click into the project to see its dashboard — budget usage, logged hours, tasks, and a Financials tab for cost, revenue, and margin. That's it: you're ready to track time and add tasks.

A project holds more than tasks
Beyond the board, each project is home to your working docs and planning tools — all scoped to that project. From here you can also create documents, map out work on timelines, and sketch ideas on whiteboards. Follow the linked guides to set each one up.
